SPM Nor’East Vienna is a premium golden-colored malt produced from select two-row spring barley. This German-style malt offers a sweet and slightly nutty malt characteristic that is reminiscent of freshly baked bread crust. Drum kilned at a higher temperature (>95 C) but still providing enough enzymatic power to be used as a base malt for up to 100% of the grain bill. This is a perfect choice for creating traditional malt-forward lagers and ales. And, if you’re crafting your version of a Vienna Lager, Märzen style “Oktoberfest” or as an addition to you “West Coast” or “New England” IPA choose this malt for a “Locally crafted beer brewed with locally crafted malt”!
